Everyday Contouring and Highlighting

Youtube (2)

With contouring becoming the new buzz word around town, we thought of making it as simple as we can for beginners and people who prefer the au natural look albeit all that makeup.

The first trick to getting the perfect contour is knowing where to apply the product. Always apply a contour powder downwards from the ear bone as far as the corner of your eye. Have control over your brush. Make sure you don’t end up creating a harsh line.

There are four areas that generally get contoured. Cheeks, Chin and Doublechin, Nose and Forehead.

Know that contour always adds a darker shade to your face so if  you don’t necessarily enjoy that, contour as little as possible. But believe me, the more your contour, the sharper you look!

My favourite products for contouring are:

NARS Casino

-MAC Deep Dark

-Kryolan Sudan

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit

Your brush plays an equally important role in contouring. My favourites are the ones from NARS and Real Technique.

For highlighting, its important that you highlight the following areas: Bridge of the nose, cupid bow and cheek bone. You can use a bronzer or a lighter foundation for the same. If you have oily skin, stay clear of using shimmer on the nose and forehead. My go to bronzer is Brown Shimmer Brick by Bobbi Brown.

In order to make this simpler for you, we went ahead and created a video for you. Do tell if it helped and what else would you like to know about.
